History

Polo field The Polo Club Mata del Herrador was founded in 2004 on the initiative of a group of riders from different equestrian disciplines in between which we can find spanish endurance and show jumping winners, greyhound hunters with horses and big group of horse lovers and professionals from the horse world.

The aim of this Club is the fondness for horses, polo sport and the direct and indirect promotion of economic activity in the area.

Since its foundation the Club has celebrated a number of tournaments with the Spanish Polo Federation (FEP) like the Spanish Polo Championships in 2006 and 2011 and the Andalucia Cup in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 as well as the Antena 3 Championship and has offered the Spanish Polo Federation its facilities and polo field for any activities they have organized.

The Polo Club Mata del Herrador is only 4km away from the Seville Airport, which makes its location very attractive because of its accessibility not only for riders and visitors coming from Spain, but also coming for those coming from abroad.

FacilitiesEvery Wednesday, Friday and Sunday we play chukkas in form of a training in the Club.

Our FEP qualified instructor Roberto Tabarez comes from Uruguay. He has an extensive professional career in the polo world and has been living in Spain for the last 20 years.

Polo lessons are available during the whole year 5 days a week.

Our facilities include a professional tournament polo field 260m x 140m and a warm up field beside the main one.
The Polo Club Mata del Herrador has 40 stables available and offers livery services.
